Alamein Tour

Start your tour by driving on the north coast of Egypt towards the west for almost 100 kilo meters until reaching the site for one of the battles of the Second World War, Alamein.
By visiting Alamein military museum, you will have an imagination for the battle and how was it going in not only Egyptian north coast but in north Africa.

Displaying in 4 halls most of the stories related to the four main countries who took place in this battle ( Egypt – Great Britain – Germany – Italy) with another mixed hall that shows in a sample how was the war going on in North Africa till reaching to Alamein Coast.

Displaying outside in the garden or the open air, there are many military vehicles and guns that were used in the battles of El Alamein on display outside the museum. Some of them are bearing war damage.

Next after this visit, a short distance you will find the Commonwealth Cemetery with its memorial for the souls of the soldiers who were found here.
7367 graves for Allied Soldiers with almost 800 are nameless, with a memorial at the end listing the names of 11945 others whose bodies were never found.

Driving on the seaside for few kilometers to reach the Axis memorials, first reaching the German memorial. An octagonal structure lies over 4280 soldiers graves.

5 kilometers to the west lies the Italian memorial which is a white marble tower, with chapel dedicated to the 42800 Italian soldiers, airmen and sailors who died here during the war.
